point of view from an executioner from mid-centry in Europe

I am an executioner in mid-century in Europe. My work is to kill criminals. It is one of the biggest entertainment for the people so we executioner do it as cruelly as we can. There are people who think it is very cruel and prefer not to watch the execution but a lot of people come and watch the execution as they don't have much entertainment in their lives normally. We do it cruelly, one reason is that it is an entertainment, another reason is to restrain people to commit crimes. However, people watched the execution as an entertainment, we executioner were discriminated badly. We were not allowed to marry a normal woman, our children had to hide their parents job or otherwise they get withdraw from school, and we were thought to be a murderer who is having fun killing criminals. It is because we keep straight face while we kill criminals in a very cruel way and have direct contact with criminals so they think we are affected and are polluted by the criminals so they do not want us near them. Though we are just diligently doing our duty. Our job goes on from generation to generation so we teach our children the job and our children would take place after we retire. As there are no executions every day, we usually have a side job and a many of executioner do a surgeon as a side job. We do various executions so we know where the vital spot is and know the contracture of human body so we do very good as a surgeon. When we retire, we do surgeon as main job, too.

Executioners are not always good at execution. There are some executioner who are bad at using knives that when they perform decapitation, they cannot cut criminal’s head by one try. The rumor spreads so I try to do it nicely. If an executioner is good, they may be called to a royal family to do execution.

However, we are just bound to do our duty. That’s all.

A mothers perspective

I have written in Vicki Schieber's voice and perspective who is a mother who lost her daughter due to murder. I used factual imformation from the article
www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/new-voice-mother-shares-grief-and-joins-call-mercy

My name is Vicki Schieber. I know what it is like to loose someone you love. In 1998 May 7th, my daughter, Shannon, was raped and murdered. She was a gorgeous young lady who was just fineshing her first year of graduate school on a full scholarship at the Warton  School at The University of Pennsylvania. Every year, I cannot help but be reminded how she had such high hopes for the future.
Although I do grieve over the loss of my beautiful girl, I wish that the murderer, TerranceWilliams is not executed.

The first several years, my husbad and I were so very depressed and angry that we did not know how, or if it was even mentally possible to get on with our lives, but when working as an advocate for other people who have also lost their loved ones due to violence and crime to help get through the pain and grief , I was enlightened on the fact that some of the lucky people find a way to forgive and completely let go of  any terrible, hurtful and aggrivating thing that may have happened in the past.

The core reason why my husband and I wish to spare the life of Terrance Williams is because of our Catholic religeon. According to the Bible, it says to "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." Wich means, we are commanded by God to forgive anything or anyone who wronged us, just like how God forgives us of our sins. I believe in this verse, so the least I can do is to ask to spare the life of Terranance Williams

When my husband and I conjunted our request, the public wondered of we would win as well as the district attorney who was very worried for our emotional health.

Because of my catholic religeon, I have fully forgiven the man who killed my daughter, so my only wish and desire is that the public, district attorney and the government realize and respect my wishes to keep Terrance Williams alive.
