Answer to my question5

What forms of execution are still around?

I was only aware of lethal injection, gas, and the electric chair, so i was very shocked to hear that there were still some horrific forms of execution that people still carry out even today.

Because i was already looking up this topic, I decided to add in a few details to a few of the executions that still take place.

1. Lethal Injection.
In most cases 3 drugs are shot through the prisoners body through IV which are called Sodium thiopental,Pancuronium bromide, and Potassium chloride. For fear of a not being about to successfully carry out the exection due to mechanical failer, most states inject these drugs manually.

2.The electric chair.
The electric chair was first used in 1890 in NewYork.
A wet sponge is placed on the prisoners head for cunductivity and depending on the prisioners state, they adjust the volage. Usually it would be around 2000 for 15 seconds.

3.Gas Chamber.
Mostly all over America do not use this form of execution, but the 5 remaining states that still do use the gas chamber let the prisoners choose to die by lethal injection instead.
Some places in North Korea use the gas chamber to test poisonous gasses on prisoners.hydrogen cyanide is what is used in the gas chamber which a slow and painful death if you dont breath. Naturally from fear, most prisoners hold their breath which slows down the process.

4.Single person shooting

5. Firing Squad.
This form of exection is to be said as the most honorable way of being executed.

6. Hanging,
This form of exection was said to be a common way of execution in the 1850.

7. Beheading.

8.Stoning.

9.Boiling.
This is a very gruesome and painful death where the prisoner is put into boiling water or oil.
Uzbekistan is the only country today that still uses this way to execute poitical dissidents.

10.Burning.
In recent years North Korea was reported to have used this form of execution.

  1. You mention that "hanging" was said to be a common form of execution in 1850 but, of course, that is the method of execution which is still used in Japan
