What is the difference between corporal
punishment and capital punishment?
The word ‘corporal punishment’ comes from
the Latin word meaning body. On the other hand, ‘capital punishment’ comes from
the Latin word the head.
Corporal punishment is a type of physical
punishment and it includes flogging, canning, mutilation, and branding. It is
not only apply to criminals but to all offenders because it varies to a mild
one to a harsh one. It could be applied to a child, to a prisoner, and to anyone
who offensive.
Capital punishment is to execute to punish someone
for committing a very serious crime. It can only be applied by a proper legal
trial. So there are some countries that capital punishment does not exist.
